The Dress Code has been approved by the Library Administration.
Appropriate dress is expected in public and nonpublic
library areas and will be enforced by all library departments.
Clothing should be clean and in good repair. Clothing or
accessories that display vulgar or distasteful pictures,words, messages, etc. will not be allowed. Good personal
hygiene shall be followed.
Shorts:
Only shorts that are appropriate in style and length for
the library working environment are acceptable. Shorts must be no shorter than fingertip length and cannot be
skin tight.
Skirts and dresses must be appropriate in style and length
for the library working environment. Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than fingertip length. Dress
necklines must be appropriate. Clothing must allow for bending and moving without exposing excessive skin or
undergarments while performing work duties.
Pants must be appropriate for the library working
environment. Jeans, dress, and casual slacks are
appropriate. Pants must allow you to bend without exposing
any skin or undergarments. Sweat pants and workout attire will not be allowed.
Casual shirts, blouses, or sweatshirts appropriate to the
library working environment may be worn. The following types of shirts are not allowed: spaghetti strap
tops, halter tops, shirts that expose the mid-riff, or shirts with armholes or necklines that expose lingerie.
The shirt must allow the wearer to bend and move without exposing midriff, cleavage or undergarments.
Shoes are required and must be appropriate for safety in
the library work environment. Sandals and flip flops will be allowed but must allow the student to perform work
duties. Beach shoes or foam flip flops will not be allowed. Heel height on shoes must be appropriate to allow
for normal performance of work duties.
Caps, hats, head coverings, and sunglasses are not to be
worn while on duty in the library. This is for both male and female student workers. If you have religious or
medical issues that require head coverings please contact your immediate supervisor.
Body piercings and tattoos will be permitted as long they
are not distracting or no objectionable message is conveyed by them. Safety is also an issue, if a body
piercing can get caught on any type of library equipment, it will need to be removed.
