The New Dongles/Adaptors

We finally have the Library Learning Commons (main floor) open. With that said, there are 4 collaboration tables on the far wall closest to the Fine Arts building and 2 in the new collaboration rooms by the main copy area. We currently have 5 kinds (2 each) of dongles/adapters for checkout at the circulation desk. The Dongles/Adaptors are to connect the patron’s device (a computer, tablet, phone, etc.) to the collaboration table’s big screen.  Patrons will need to know what adapter their device needs.  We currently own:

1.       Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Converter with Audio - Used on Mac Books.

2.       Lightning digital AV adapter - Used on newer iPad and iPhone.

3.       30 pin (In Jennifer’s office still) - Used on older iPad and  iPhone.

4.       HDMI to Mini-HDMI adapter - Used on some Windows laptops and tablets.

5.       COBOC CY-MHL-AD-5.5_BK Micro USB 5 Pin HDMI MHL Adapter Converter/ Dongle 1080p@30Hz - Used on Android Phone or Tablet.
NOTE:  This list is not all inclusive of the devices that may be connected using the adapters that we currently have.  When in doubt, visually compare our adapters to the device port.

Dongles/Adapters will be located in the drawer above the dry erase markers. Also, they are READY for check out with ID as a 4-hour reserve. If you have any questions, please come and talk with a supervisor.

Thanks,

Clay
