New semester -- a few reminders

Welcome back! Hard to believe, but spring break 2016 will be here before you know it.

I just wanted to remind you of a few things that may have slipped your mind while you were enjoying your winter break.

1. Facebook is not allowed at the circulation desk. I know it's tempting, but we rely on these computers to be working at all times, and we do not want to risk a virus.

2. No cell phones at the circulation desk or in the stacks. There are plenty of clocks upstairs to help you keep watch of the time.

3. If you need to change your work schedule, please get with me or Ginger as soon as possible.

4. Do not answer reference questions at the circulation desk. Examples:

  • Do you have This Certain book?
  • Could you help me print? (Send to tech spot or reference desk)
  • Could you help me scan an article?
  • How do I cite this book?
  • How do I change my margins?
These are all questions that should be answered at the reference desk or Tech Spot or the Writing Center.

5. Please be checking your W2W schedule.

6. I realize that it is very chilly at the circulation desk. Although hats are not normally allowed at work, if there is an extremely cold day we will allow it.

7. Please refer to the dress code if you have questions.

8. We do have a heater for you use while working at the desk. Please unplug it when closing.

9. Also, we do not provide change unless they are needing a bill broken for the copy machine, Texan Bucks kiosk, or the supply vending machine.

10. If you take a book donation, don't forget to have the patron fill out the donation form and you must sign it as well. And, when taking it to Kay's area place it on the biggest area of the table. The smaller section is for delivery pick ups. See picture below.
