I just had a young man in arguing with Malory, Terrah, and myself about paying an overdue fee without returning the item. Once an item (book, video, locker key) goes overdue, they MUST return the item before we will accept payment. He said that someone did it for him this summer and he wanted it done again for the same item.
Do not renew items that are overdue. They must return the item and pay the fee FIRST. Then, they can have the item checked out to their account again.
BE KIND TO YOUR FELLOW CIRC STAFF:
When we break the rules for one person, it makes it "extremely difficult" for everyone else to enforce policies. Not to mention that the person we break the rule for, now expects it to be done for them again. Make life easier on everyone and just follow the policies.
