If there are 5 or less laptops left in the
cabinet, the students cannot renew their laptop. They also cannot check out a different laptop
from the cabinet. They can come back in an hour and if there are still
laptops available they can check a new one out.
If the patron becomes upset and a supervisor is around, please come get
one of us.

If there are 6 or more laptops left in the
cabinet you can go ahead and issue them a regular renewal, but explain to them
that this in no way guarantees a renewal later in the day/week.
I would also recommend reminding the students to save files
to their T drives this week, especially in the event they need to continue
working on something and they cannot renew their laptop. Their T drive can be accessed from any
computer they log in to on campus and they can resume their work on a different
device.
