Statistics

As the library's fiscal year is drawing to a close we're getting a good idea of what the totals are for our annual statistics.  Our numbers at the moment for reference questions are significantly lower this year than they have been for the previous four years.  While this could be partly because not as many patrons came to the desk, we want to be confident that it is not a result of poor documentation.  Please make sure that every time you assist a patron or answer the phone you are writing on the stat sheet what type of question they had.  If they ask you two different questions, you need to make two tally marks.  For example, if a patron walks up and asks where a department is located and then subsequently asks for directions on how to get there, you need to write two marks in the directional section on the stat sheet.  The same goes for every phone call you get, which is where our numbers have really dropped.
