Dusting
Process
Gather supplies: yellow dust
cloth, dust broom, book cart
Dusting Process
1. Remove all book from top shelf
and put on the book cart.
2. Wipe down shelf with yellow
dust cloth.
3. Wipe down books with dust
cloth and dust the sides with the dust broom.
4. Replace book back on shelf,
and continue working down the shelves towards the bottom shelf.
5. Repeat until your stacks shift
is complete.
Remember to notate all the
information needed your teams notebook.
Purpose of following the
procedure
1.We lost many books to the
Silverfish damage
2. During the search for
Silverfish damaged books we came upon water damaged books that had mold growing
on them. Lost several books through mold damage.
3. Dusting this way we will catch
damage to books sooner.
