New Protocols

UPDATED: 3/23/2020
Going forward we are doing the following:

  • Any books that are returned or used (either bookdrop or dropped off at the desk) need to be discharged and placed on the hold carts I have placed in the back for 3 days.  To limit staff exposure, you must wear gloves while doing this. To help prolong our glove supply, we are going to do this in the morning, and an hour before closing.  If someone returns a book in person, have them deposit it at the book drop at the end of the Circ desk.  If you open, you will be responsible for getting the books that are over the three days prepped for shelving.  For now, leave the stuffie in them until the end of the three day period.

  • If you wish, there are gloves in the drawer underneath the cash drawer to use when checking out books to people.

  • When you are finished with your desk shift, please wipe down the keyboard, mouse, and scanner.  Same goes with carts and the inventory iPad as well after finishing tasks upstairs.  Clorox wipes are also in the same drawer as the gloves.

  • ALL study rooms (group, individual, and reservable) have been closed for the time being.  The rooms are too small to follow the social distance protocol and we know some students would move chairs around to use the rooms as a group.

  • Fines and due dates during this time: Almost everything has been renewed through Sirsi until April 12th.  When it comes to fines, there should be none.  However, if the book was overdue before spring break, the fine stands.

  • Laptops are NOT available for checkout at this time.

  • We will be checking out markers.... which means we will need to sanitize them when they come back...

  • We are closed to community members.

  • I've hidden the pens and strongly suggest using your own for the time being.  If you need one, I have a bunch near the bookshelves in my office.
