Leaving items at the desk

A few of you are getting in a bad habit of leaving items at the desk in the drawers (markers, reserves, books...).  Please DO NOT do this.  This has happened before, and the worker at the desk forgot to discharge the item before placing it in the drawer, creating a fine on the patron's account and the item not being found until a few days later.

When you discharge an item, you should be immediately placing it where it belongs as soon as you have helped all the patrons at the desk.  Not doing this causes confusion to whomever works the desk next and increasing the chances of not discharging things correctly.
