Welcome Back

 Welcome back!

First and foremost, to those of you who remained at work since March: thank you!  We were able to accomplish a lot with your help and we greatly appreciate it.

There have been a lot of changes this semester, some Covid related, some not.  First and foremost, the training wiki is no more.  We have switched everything to a Google site, https://sites.google.com/view/dslcirculationdepartment/home. I strongly recommend everyone to look over it as all the changes have been included in the website.  Also, all of you will need to go over the Covid 19 training and take the quiz over the information.

Here is a brief rundown of important changes:

  • Room 225 is closed and 231 has become first come, first served.
    • Still take a walkie with you when working in the stacks, but the person at the desk will be responsible for opening the PPR, MPR, and collaboration rooms 159 and 160.
  • Markers will not circulate this semester
  • All items patrons return or mark as used will be going into quarantine.
    • Exceptions to this are laptop chargers, reservation clipboards, and the MPR and PPR room kits.
    • So when an item is returned, it needs to be taken straight to the quarantine cart for the prospective day after discharge.  The carts near my office will be used for books returning from mending or cataloging.
  • Music is now allowed while working in the stacks.  HOWEVER, it needs to stay at a volume in which you can hear what is going on around you.  NEVER LISTEN TO MUSIC AT THE DESK.
    • With this said, homework material is not allowed at the desk unless after 10PM or on weekends.

Again, go through the website to see the changes, especially if you have been gone since March!

In regards to the schedule, please let me know if you have any schedule changes as quickly as you can so that I can tweak the schedule!

This will be an interesting semester.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, my door is always open.

Have a good fall semester!
