Updates!

Hey Everyone,

We  have a few updates that we want everyone to be informed on, it might get long so please bear with me.

  • Since we are now open until 2am, we have decided to allow reservations to be made until then. Here is an example of how this needs to be done. If a patron wants to book a room on 2/3 from 10pm-2am, in the system on 2/3 you would need to book it from 10:00pm-11:45pm, save that reservation, then go to 2/4 and make another reservation for that person for 12:00pm-2:00am.

  • The Maker Spot is now up and running and have already started to check out a items. Along with having the 3D printer, some of the items they offer to check out are, science kits, and go pro's. They are open from 8am-5pm and students need to go upstairs to the maker spot location to check out items. It is encouraged that they also return them there during business hours. However, we will accept the returns if it is past 5pm. The returns for Maker Spot will go in a container that will be placed above where the reference book return container is. This will be set up soon.

  • Along with taking returns, patrons will also be able to pay any fines they may have due to an item they checked out with maker spot. You will process this fine just as you would any other fine by going to display user and paying under their account. Maker Spot is a really neat addition to the resources that are offered to students, if you have time you should go check it out!

  •  Make sure that when someone leaves their reservation for the multipurpose room or presentation room that you check the room as soon as they leave and put the form in its spot near the task books. There have been many times that I have came in at 5pm and a reservation ended at 3pm and no one had checked it.

  • Lastly, when you are unlocking a door upstairs for someone's reservation, please make sure you are locking it back so that when they leave and shut the door it will remain locked.(Also, ask them to please shut the door when they leave) This has happened a few times this week where it is left unlocked and someone went in and was kicked out when a reservation showed up.
Thank you for all that you do and for reading my novel of updates. Feel free to ask if you have any questions/concerns!
