New Cleaner, Make sure we are checking items & New Password reset system

We have a new cleaner that Tonya ordered for the whiteboards. Give it a try and if it works well please let us know and she can order us more.

Also, the clicker/laser that belongs in the practice presentation bag is missing. It is very important that you remember to always check items when returned before the item is discharged and before the person leaves so that we can take necessary steps to get the item back or place a charge on the patrons account.

And lastly,
There is a new system in place that assists with helping reset NTNET passwords, the website is: www.tarleton.edu/password once you login you will need to set up your profile.
The biggest change in the new system is that it gives the user the ability to request a one-time passcode to be sent to their mobile phone or email (if they have entered them in the system) so that they can change their password if they have forgotten it, or if it has expired.  Of course, Chris, Tracy, and Margie (as well as the Tech Spot and ITS Helpdesk folks) are all still able and willing to help any patrons or staff with their passwords, but this new system makes it easier for patrons to manage passwords on their own, and adds a layer of security to the password change process.

When you go to the website, you will be prompted for your NTNET. Once you enter your NTNET, you will be taken to a screen that looks like:

Click on “Setup/Update Mobile Phone and Email”, at this point you will be asked to solve a Captcha and enter your password, and then enter a mobile number and email. The email cannot be your Tarleton email. After that, you will be able to go www.tarleton.edu/password if you forget your password or it expires, and it will send a one-time code to the mobile number and email you have designated. You can also set up challenge questions, if you would like. Your challenge questions from the old system are not in the new system.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

 Thank you!
