Course Reserve Contracts

Faculty are setting up their contracts for fall course reserves and it's very important that you make sure the contract is entirely filled out before accepting it.

Things to check for:
  • They need to have at least one copyright compliance statement selected.
  • Have they signed/dated the contract?  You'd be surprised how often they overlook this.
  • Faculty frequently forget to fill out their course information.  We HAVE to have the course number and course name to add a reserve in Sirisi.
  • Only one semester can be selected for the contract.  If they select more than one, you need to explain to them that they will need to submit a new contract the next semester.
  • Make sure a loan period is selected.
  • Make sure the faculty member actually writes the title of EVERY item that they place on reserve on the bottom of the contract.  We need to have documentation on exactly what items they provide so we can check that we return the proper items at the end of the semester.
  • AND LASTLY!  They need to provide the books when they drop off the contract!  If this is a new reserve, they need to bring their copy of the book or bring the library copy down to the circulation desk.  The only time you will not receive books with a contract is if they are renewing an existing reserve.
Hope this helps as a refresher, I know we don't take reserve contracts frequently throughout the year.
