Overnight Study!

I wanted to explain how the overnight study works for the ones that have not done it before. And if you have, please still read for a refresher.

Starting this Thursday, at 11pm, we will play the overnight recording. It will explain to the students that our overnight study hours will begin at midnight and anyone that is staying in the library after midnight will need to come to the front to sign in. At 11:30pm, a police officer and myself will be at a table in the lobby helping sign people in and give them stickers. If people decide to leave the library and not come back, they will need to sign out. If they are only leaving for a few hours and coming back later, they will not have to sign out and just show us their sticker when they return. Usually we are open to the public along with students, however after midnight on these days (December 6, 7, 9, 10, 11) only Tarleton students will be allowed. Students will need their Texan Card to sign in!  They have to have the physical form of the photo ID to verify they are a student, otherwise, they will not be able to stay.

From 12am-2am we will continue with our normal services at the desk, and you will also be responsible for refilling the Keurig machine. (You may refil the water jug at the filtered water fountain by the front restrooms). Please make sure that the circ computers are logged off after 2am so that workflow will work correctly the next day. After 2am, the only services we will offer at the desk are letting patrons check out laptop chargers/markers, which need to done by a hand check form. (*Read below for more information on this*)  You are allowed to bring your own laptop or check out a laptop to study on after 2am. Just please stay at the front desk while you study so you can help the police officer. They do occasional checks to make sure that the students in here are signed in. During this time, help them by making sure that students sign in/out.

If you have the 4am-7am shift, you are also allowed to study. The only services we will offer are letting patrons check out laptop chargers/makers, which need to done by a hand check form. (*Read below for more information on this*) The circ computers should be logged off, if they are not, please do so now. Your other responsibility will be to help with sign in/out if the police officer needs to step away from the desk, and to refill the Keurig machine.

**After 2am, if you have someone needing to check out laptop chargers or markers since the computers have to be logged off, fill out a hand check form. These are located next to the computers, please ask us if you have any questions about this form. If someone returns an item that you previously did a hand check form on, you can shred that form and put the item away as normal. At the end of the 7am shift, if there are still items out that have not been returned, put those forms on Kim's desk so she can look into them. In addition, if someone returns an item that was checked out in workflow before the system was logged off, you are allowed to log back in to discharge that item and then immediately sign back off.**

If you are working a overnight shift and your replacement does not show up, please call me. My number is listed on the circ webpage under "Contact Information".

If you have any questions please let us know before you work your overnight shift. Good luck with finals!Image result for finals are coming
