In case you haven't noticed, we now have a second laptop vending machine upstairs. It is located across from the copy center by the computer stations. It is very important that laptops are returned to the same kiosk they are checked out from. The laptops are linked to that specific machine. They each have different designs on the vending machine/laptops, so it is easy to tell them apart.
If someone returns a laptop from the wrong machine, the machine will try to read the laptop, register an error of "Laptop not found" and then will eject the machine so it can be returned to the proper kiosk. Please pay attention to the kiosk when you walk by for any laptops that are not fully seated within the machine. These likely need to be returned to a different machine.
Patrons that do not stay and verify that their laptop returned successfully could acquire fines. Please keep this issue in mind when patrons are confused about errors given on the machine. We have signs up, but it might take some time for the students to adapt to the second machine.
