TexShare Applications and Library Membership

Hello All!

FYI:  We've had a few hiccups with TexShare Applications and different types of memberships at the library, so I thought I would go over them.

First, any patron of the library (Student, Faculty, or Staff) can get a TexShare card through us.  They MUST fill out an application completely and let us photocopy their ID and we will then follow the same process we do for the ones we get online.

If someone comes with a TexShare card from an outside library, fill out a Patron Updating and Handcheck form.  The top box of that form must be filled out with the information from the TexShare card, the middle part is the user's information, and the bottom is any book that they are checking out.  Along with this, you must get a copy of the TexShare card and their photo ID.  These directions are posted near Circ 2!

However, if someone comes in who wants to check out books and is NOT a patron of the library, we can NOT issue them a TexShare card.  They MUST become a member of a public library, get a TexShare card there, and bring it here; in which case we follow the steps above.  Or they can become a Friends member for a price.

Again, if you have any questions, let us know.
