Renewing items/CircTrainingWiki

Please remember that if you ever have trouble remembering how to do something in Sirsi that you can look it up in the CircTrainingWiki.  You can access it by going to the DSL Circulation tab, and the CircTrainingWiki is on the sidebar to the right. Most every situation that can occur, you can find in there so that we never have to turn a student away.

Also, Here is the link:

Here is a reminder on how to renew items,

A patron may renew a item before the item is past due.

Step 1: Go to "Renew User" tab

If you were already in the patrons account prior, then you can click their account to the right where it is listed as "Current"

Step 2: Search for the patron by scanning their Student ID card. Photo ID is required. If the patron does not have their Student ID, they may use their driver’s licenses. Click on “user search” to look-up the patron by their name.

Step 3: If using "user search" to find patron, after you have found them click "renew items for user".

Step 4: If the item is in front of you then click "Seen". Please note, do not renew an item if it is overdue. The patron would need to first return the item then let us discharge it to stop the fine accrual process. If there is no hold on the item, then we could check it back out to the patron.

Step 5: click "Renew selected items"

Step 6: After you click Renew Selected Items, their new due date will appear and their receipt will partially print.

Step 7: Always make sure you click "Close" so that the transaction is complete and the rest of the receipt finishes printing.

Step 8: Verbally tell them their new due date and hand them their receipt.

Also, don't forget that Kortney works at the reference desk from 5pm-8pm Monday-Friday. She is familiar with the circulation desk and should also be able to help you with anything you may have trouble with. And, if it still can't get figured out, you can always call my cell, I always have it with me and do not mind helping.

Thanks Everyone!
