Recently we had a powercord turned in late. It had accrued a $45 fine. Upon some research it was realized that the patrons were female, but the powercord had been checked out with an ID that belonged to a male.
It is very important that you are looking at the ID when you check out something. If you can't tell who the person is by the photo on the ID, please ask for another form of ID. And, let them know they can PROBABLY get a new ID card for free -- if it has been a year since the last one was created for them.
