We recently had a patron lose a wallet that was turned in at the lost and found. When the patron returned to retrieve her wallet, the patron said it was missing the $300.00 cash that was in it. If this happens and you are dealing with the situation refer the student to either of the Kims (or the evening supervisor once the position is filled). If no supervisor is available at the moment, the patron needs to either go straight to the police department to file a report or give them Kym's business card for them to reach out directly (and really, they should file a police report first and foremost to get the ball rolling). The circulation desk is the only department with a lost and found, so no other department will be able to provide assistance. Please do not refer them elsewhere within the library.
Just a general reminder, do not open the wallet unless you are in the presence of a supervisor.
If it is a solitary debit card or credit card that is turned in, let a supervisor know so that we can send it promptly to the police department.
Thanks!
