I received a fine appeal for an overdue power cord recently. After speaking with the student , she said she was told the power cord was due back 15 minutes before closing. This might or might not be true, but I thought it couldn't hurt to issue a reminder to you all just in case there was some confusion.
Marker kits are due 15 minutes before closing, and students will not be fined unless they take them home overnight. Laptop power cords have the same loan period and fine rate as laptops, 4 hours and $15.00/hour they're late. Since these are packaged so similarly to markers, I can see how it would easy to go into autopilot. Please very conscious of when items are due and make sure you verify on the receipt before telling someone a due date.
