Overdue payments

Hey Everyone,

If you have a student that is wanting to checkout books but is blocked due to fines and they want to pay it, we will (for now) allow them to pay at the desk as long as the fine is accrued from the same day. We will not accept fine payments from the past, this will mess up the way it is entered into the system. They will need to go and pay it through Texan bill pay.
Before you accept the payment, get a supervisor to look at their account to approve the payment. If a supervisor is unavailable, go ahead and process the payment (only if they need to check out materials) and write an unblock slip and put it on Kim's desk so that she can make sure the person is not double charged.
The business office is working with us to hopefully get it set up to where when they make their payments online we will be able to tell by looking at their account, until then we will take payments this way.

Also, when accepting payments, always ask them how they will be paying. We can only accept credit cards from the hours of 8am-3:30pm because we have to transfer them to the cashiers office. If they are paying with a Texan Card, we need to first slide the card to make sure they have money on their account. And, if they are paying in cash do not accept large bills such as $50 or $100 because we do not have enough cash to make change for them.

Please review over the wiki website for dress code policies. Since we have new student workers we want to make sure everyone is on the same page. We have a little stricter dress code policy than you may see from other departments in the library and this is due to us being the first person people see when they walk in and we want to maintain a professional appearance.

And, I wanted to thank everyone for working so hard on the shift! We appreciate it so much!! :)
Ya'll are awesome!
