This
concept has been brought up in previous semesters and it was decided that a
miscellaneous section isn’t needed. We use the log to track our priority
stacks maintenance projects to help generate statistics for our end of year
reports. Supervisors know when we have larger projects like training that
the log numbers will be lower. Smaller projects like book locator forms
don’t take too long so it won’t interfere much with your regular stacks
projects.
15. Does
a person checking out an ILL book have to show their ID or can we just get the
book by their name?
The
same check-out rules for our books apply to ILL, so they will always need to
provide their ID.
16. with
the last question said, I don't see why we have a place for write our feedback
when the answer has always been "get used to it"
The
question/suggestion box was intended to help bolster communication, especially
for those who were afraid to say something for fear of repercussions. The
majority of responses submitted were about the head phone privileges.
This decision was made unanimously by the staff in our department and was not
up for debate. We’ve tried to use our responses to better explain our
justification and help you understand, but it was stated in the very first
survey response that headphone privileges were being revoked.
Many
of the suggestions have actually been accepted and taken into
consideration. We’re working on things like making a Circ Guide to post
on the secure website to help students with procedure based on multiple
comments as well at making efforts to be more prompt with emails/blogs.
While we are open to suggestions, some aren’t always feasible.
At
this point, I do think the survey has fulfilled its intended purpose.
We’ve said all along that we want you to come to us directly when you have
questions to help increase communication, and therefore we will be removing the
survey feature for the time being.
