We've almost made it through the first week of school. I didn't know if we would make it, but with all of your help we have! Yay, you!
I want to remind everyone that we are closed this weekend in observance of Labor Day. We will resume regular semester hours on Tuesday. The schedule will solidify soon once all the class schedules are set and the newly hired student workers can start. After next week if there is an open shift on the schedule you should be able to pick it up.
This semester we will continue to work on our regular jobs upstairs, but we will also be undertaking a pretty large shift of the collection. Our goal is to eliminate all of the stacks in the small T-Z section near the quiet zone. To do so we have to weed at least 100 shelves of books. After this section has been cleared we will be moving on to another area, but that will not begin until next semester. Basically we have a super busy semester ahead, and it is very important that when you are at work that you stay busy. If you have any questions about any of the tasks and why we do them please don't hesitate to ask.
If you are closing or working late remember that you can call for an escort. The police department will send someone to walk/drive you to your car or dorm. If you want an escort call 254-968-9265.
